Matthew’s love for the hair industry stems from his love of all things art, culture and craftsmanship. Styling involves precision, unwavering attention and creativity. These pillars of the process inspired Matthew to become a stylist.
After years as a senior stylist at Medulla & Co., working alongside his brother, Matthew wanted more. Fortunately, so did Anthony. The two set out to conceptualize then realize their very own salon. One that values community, inclusion and creativity.
In 2017, Alibi Cutting Room came to fruition. Located in Toronto’s revered Little Italy neighbourhood, the two brothers bring complementary strengths to their business. Matthew is a master in precision cutting, dry cuts and specialized grooming techniques.
Matthew is known for his ability to craft signature looks that enhance his clients’ natural attributes and give them a renewed sense of confidence.
Anthony always knew he wanted to be a creative. At 18 years old he immersed himself in a hairstyling apprenticeship and swiftly fell in love with the industry. He went on to spend a decade at Medulla & Co. where he spent 5 years as co-owner.
Over the years, Anthony has worked with countless celebrities from Anna Wintour to Jon Hamm. All do in large part to his technical training, innovative approach and colour mastery.
Anthony’s entrepreneurial spirit, combined with Matthew’s readiness to start a business, inspired him to create a salon that was uniquely their own. At Alibi Cutting Room, Anthony is an expert in natural, lived-in colour, curated cuts and men’s grooming.
Art, fashion, travel and culture inform Anthony’s one-of-a-kind creations.
